Have you ever had to pick someone up from the airport that you have never met before? Have you ever had to meet someone at a restaurant that you have never met before face-to-face?
It’s always a little nerve racking isn’t it? I mean, there you are trying to play it off as cool but inside you’re wondering. “Is that him – no can’t be. Maybe that’s him over there?”
So maybe you even ask one, two or three different people before you land on the right one.
When you have to meet someone for the very first time, whether you are picking them up at the airport or meeting with them at a restaurant, its really, really helpful to know what they look like.
When you know what they look like, if you have a clear picture of them, they stand out in a crowd don’t they?
How about God? What does He look like? Would you know Him if you were picking Him up at the airport or would you politely stand there with a handwritten sign that said, “God”?
I know that that imagery seems overly simplistic, but stop for just a moment and contemplate that idea.
How well do you know God?
Could you recognize Him if you saw Him in a crowd?
This week at One Thing for Men we are going to conclude our series entitled “Basic Training” by examining the unique relationship between God and a guy by the name of Moses.
In Exodus 33 we see clearly how special of a relationship there was between God and Moses.
Could you or I, have that kind of a relationship with God that Moses had?
You may be surprised to discover the answer!
My hope and prayer is that you will join me, and others, around the tables this Friday morning, 7:00 a.m., at the Cabernet Steakhouse on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta. There we’ll finish “Basic Training” strong, and pull all of the pieces of this puzzle together.
Who knows, you may very well encounter God like never before!
It is with great expectancy that I will see you there,
