It seems today sexuality can hardly be avoided.
It has become the American drug of choice and a chief means of selling product.
We are surrounded daily by an onslaught of images and sensual attire. The widespread acceptance can challenge and breakdown a person’s convictions in this area.
The fact is sexuality has been cheapened.
God designed sexual desire and He created its boundary.
The boundary is marriage.
His standard is no sexual activity outside of marriage… period.
Culture, popular opinion, marketing agencies, the majority of movie producers, many of your coworkers, a number of your friends and some of your relatives will likely laugh, make fun of or simply not agree with that standard… but then who ever said it was wise to establish what is true based on public opinion?
If ever there was a Commandment that calls for a man to examine the truth about lies, this is it!
No question about it, sex is a fire… and God created a fire place.
If this fire leaves the boundary it was designed to flame in, it will create a damaging disaster that will burn and scar a man’s soul.
God gave marriage as a boundary and then he put up a No Trespassing sign. Do not take sex in any form outside of its marriage boundary!
Join us at the tables this week as we unpack some of the what, the why and the heart of the 7th Commandment.
Let’s lift up God’s picture and covenant plan in a way that helps us see and appreciate the incredible purpose and power of His design in this area… and in the process expose how shallow, off the mark and abusive it is to ignite the fire for self-centered motivation, emotional gratification and biological release.
Do you not know …see I Corinthians 6:18
Also, what does a man do if he’s blown it… or can’t seem to break free? I love the Bible. Let’s explore it for life-changing truth.
Hope to see you early!
This Week’s Key Verses
You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14
You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Romans 3:19
Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? I Corinthians 6:18
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:11
