In Mark 10 Jesus had an Encounter with a man we know as the “rich young ruler.” He would fit right in line at any Starbucks in north Atlanta.
He was aggressive, young and impressive and was slaying the world on his own. But the rich young ruler lacked one thing and approached Jesus for an answer that might help him check that box.
Everything in our faith and hope is built upon the person, work, and teachings of Jesus.
Sometimes we need to be reminded of that, encouraged by that and recalibrated to that.
Jesus encouraged those who followed Him with a hunger to learn, to have ears to hear what it was He was saying. In other words, let his teachings engage our mind, penetrate our heart and then change how we think and what we do.
This Friday, Terry Evans, the Chaplain for the Braves, will join us and lead the discussion as we look into this important encounter that included an interested man, an impossible call, and an incredible love.
We have an added bonus planned for our time this week, so plan to stay an extra fifteen minutes if you can. And be sure to invite someone to join you.
The doors open at 6:30 and we’ll start promptly at 7 AM. Hope to see you all early and bring a friend!

This Week’s Key Verses:
An Interested Man
As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before Him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Mark 10:17
An Impossible Call
Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. Mark 8:34
An Incredible Love
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes, He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9
